The Firefighters replaced the South Hill Boxing club in the sixties under the direction of Bert Lowes and Pat West and started on Adanac street in Vancouver's east side, In early 1968 theclun moved to the 12th and Cambie area of Vancouver.
Members of the Firefighters participated in numerous club shows and tournaments
including the 1968 PI Seattle Golden Gloves/AAU Pacific Northwest AAU Championships.
There were 19 Boxers from BC in that tournament.

from Alf Cool to Phil Ethier.
Two of the members, Brian Zelley and Dan Wright would establish the
Nanaimo Boxing club in 1971, and help in the revoval of boxing in Victoria.
Firefighter's Jack Snaith would join the Nanaimo Boxing club and win a National title in 1973
